Once, when guests would arrive, we would take out our photo albums to show them our pictures – our last visit to Sweden, the Bar-Mitzvah, our last vacation in the Kineret, and so on, and our dear guests would swallow their yawns as best as they could, take out their reading glasses and have a look. An additional torture, saved for our best friends was the slide projector – we showed them tons and tons of slides we took from all over. We all want to show our creations in public and get a good word here and some praise there, but today we can do it differently. Most digital cameras have a direct connection to the TV. You just have to collect the photos onto the memory card, and create a spectacular show with pictures of reasonable quality in the size of 20”, 29”, 34” and so on. Before starting the show, one must check that the camera can present files that were processed and fixed by a computer. One can also scan old photos and upload them, using any simple photo album software, with the appropriate hardware, onto the television or video projector. Nowadays there are all kinds of gadgets that you can get together with the memory card and connect to a television. You do not need a digital camera, only a memory card with scanned photos and a card reader, and it also plays MP3. In addition, quite a few of the electronic wallets enable TV presentation of material in their storage. Most of today’s DVD players allow presentation of jpeg files on TV. You just have to burn a CD with a photo collection (you can create folders per subject) and present it on TV directly from your DVD. It is recommended that the presentation method include a technology called the Progressive Scan, which lets you present a continuous picture without the lines characteristic to plasma screens, LCD screens, Video projectors and data, which is also called 100Hz. There are a number of software programs, which can help us to create a real happening: Video CD – including pictures, music and other audio-visual stuff. And all one has to do is load the CD, play and relax - the DVD does all the rest. |
